Can we Purify Several Stones Together ?

of reading

Purifying stones is an essential part of their care, and how you go about it is crucial. If you attempt to purify minerals that are not energetically compatible at the same time, it won’t work. You’ll waste your time, energy, and your stones won’t function as they should anymore.

But don’t worry, we are passionate about this topic and know exactly how to help. We assist hundreds of people daily with the purchase and maintenance of their minerals.

Yes, you can purify multiple stones at once. Each stone has its own properties, and they work based on similarities. Therefore, you should purify them by grouping them according to colour and chakra.

In this article, we’ll explain in detail the mistakes to avoid when purifying multiple stones at once. Purifying your minerals will no longer have any secrets for you!

Let’s dive in and discover how to purify several stones together!

The Purification of Stones: Everything You Need to Know

Before we get into the details of whether or not you can purify multiple stones at once, it’s important to understand the basics of what we’re discussing.

Why Is It Necessary to Purify Your Stones?

When you use minerals regularly, they absorb various types of vibrational energy.

Your stones are linked to specific properties, and the energies they absorb can range from suffering, pain, and stress to love, joy, and more. Stones act like sponges, soaking up both positive and negative vibrations.

The more energy they absorb, the harder it becomes for them to absorb new energy.

Purification works like squeezing out a sponge.

When Should You Purify Your Minerals?

This is a subjective question, as it depends on your usage.

If you wear rings, necklaces, or bracelets frequently, you’ll need to purify them more regularly.

There’s no exact answer; it depends on your connection with the stone and how you feel.

If you sense mental heaviness, strong emotions, or discomfort associated with the chakra linked to your stone, it’s time for a purification ritual.

The same applies to amethyst stones or geodes placed around your home. When using your minerals during meditation or lithotherapy sessions, you’ll need to cleanse them, as they will have absorbed a significant amount of energy that must be released before the next use.

Compatibility Between Stones: What You Need to Know

Stone Associations

Now that we understand the importance of purifying your minerals, let’s look at which stones can be paired together and which should not.

Which Stones Can Be Associated?

Each stone can be paired by chakra and colour. You can:

  • Group several stones by chakra.
  • Pair them by colour: light-toned stones can be grouped together, as can dark-toned stones.

Root Chakra: Garnet, Obsidian, Onyx, Jasper, Labradorite...

Sacral Chakra: Amber, Carnelian, Tiger’s Eye...

Solar Plexus Chakra: Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Calcite, Volcanic Rock...

Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine, Jade, Rose Quartz, Serpentine, Malachite, Rhodonite, Labradorite...

Throat Chakra: Lapis Lazuli, Amazonite, Apatite, Chalcedony, Aquamarine...

Third Eye Chakra: Azurite, Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite...

Crown Chakra: Amethyst, Moonstone, Clear Quartz, Selenite, Opalescent Opal...

We particularly love how Green Aventurine and Rose Quartz work together. They helped Janine, one of our clients, let go and heal from her recent breakup!

Which Stones Should NOT Be Associated?

Now that you know how to pair stones, let’s review some examples of combinations you should avoid:

  • Obsidian and Amazonite
  • Carnelian and Amethyst
  • Red Jasper and Lapis Lazuli

We’ve even found within our team that combining Red Jasper and Lapis Lazuli led to frequent headaches by the end of the day.

These are general rules. Every person is different and has their own energetic sensitivity. It’s up to you to determine what works for you. If an unusual combination feels right, then go for it!

There are thousands of possibilities—be creative!

Can You Purify Stones at the Same Time?

If the stones are compatible, then yes, you can purify them together.

There is no set number of minerals to purify together, as long as the compatibility guidelines are followed. You can proceed with peace of mind.

What Happens If I Purify Stones That Are Not Compatible?

If that’s the case, don’t worry—it’s neither harmful nor permanent.

However, the time you spent won’t be effective, as the vibrations from incompatible stones will conflict and cancel each other out.

The purification won’t work. You’ll need to wait a few hours before trying again, and this time, ensure you only purify compatible stones together.

Is There Any Benefit to Using Multiple Stones at the Same Time?

When compatibility rules are followed, wearing multiple stones at the same time can be beneficial.

Their properties will harmonise and amplify each other. This practice is highly recommended, as it enhances the positive effects of the stones.

Different Purification Techniques:

Now that you understand which stones can be paired and purified together, let’s explore the different methods of energy cleansing.

Here’s a list of the most effective techniques for removing accumulated energy from your minerals:

1. Water

You can use demineralised water. Let your stones sit in it for a full day. This is the most common and simplest method.

However, be careful: stones like Garnet, Pyrite, or Azurite should not come into contact with water, as this can damage them.

2. Salt Water

Place 2-3 teaspoons of salt in a bowl of water. Leave your stones in the bowl for an hour, then rinse them with fresh water.

Some stones with a hardness of less than 7 on the Mohs scale can be damaged by salt, as can metal jewellery.

3. Clay

Make a mixture of water and clay and place your stones or jewellery in it. Bury them for at least an hour, then rinse them with water.

This method is an alternative to burying stones in the ground.

4. Burying in the Earth

Dig a hole a few centimetres deep and place your stones in the earth. Leave them there for a day, preferably in a neutral area of your garden where the soil hasn’t been disturbed.

Once you retrieve the stones, rinse them with water to remove any soil.

5. Incense

Light a stick of incense and pass your stones through the smoke for a few minutes. The incense smoke will release the energy that your minerals have absorbed during use.

6. Sound

This technique involves using a Tibetan singing bowl. Let the bowl resonate and pass your stones around it. The sound resonance will cleanse and release accumulated energy.

7. Sage

Use sage in the same way as incense. Burn sage and pass your stones or jewellery through the smoke for several minutes.
